Glosso Circuit
Important announcement!

Dear Sir/Madam,

Over the past period, various stories have been circulating in the media and elsewhere that have since taken on a life of their own. To date, we have deliberately refrained from responding in order to avoid further escalation. Given the ongoing reporting and the fact that the board of Glosso VZW is being unfairly cast in a negative and incompetent light, we now deem it necessary to explain our side of the story.

It is widely known that VAS rallycross has been in turbulent waters for quite some time. Year after year, we observe a declining number of entries. The COVID-19 period has undoubtedly contributed to this, but the increasingly strict regulations imposed by VAS also play a significant role.

We hereby wish to make it explicitly clear that Glosso VZW has never asked for:

to introduce a five-year limit on licenses;
to no longer admit foreign drivers;
to ban sequential gearboxes.
Nevertheless, these points have been raised repeatedly during various consultation meetings. Time and again, we received the same answer from VAS: these matters are not open for discussion.

The consequence of this is easy to guess. More and more drivers are dropping out or choosing to compete in club races to keep the sport affordable and attractive. In August 2025, we requested another meeting with the VAS board to discuss the above issues and to look for solutions together for the declining number of entries. Once again, we were informed that these points are not open for discussion and that we would just have to find a solution ourselves. After the conclusion of the 2025 rallycross season, we conducted a thorough cost-benefit analysis of all races. This analysis confirmed what we already feared: with the current number of participants, VAS races are financially loss-making for Glosso VZW. As many of you know, Glosso VZW has made significant financial and legal efforts over the past few years to be allowed to continue organizing races at all. Years of legal proceedings were necessary to reach where we stand today. Therefore, in December 2025, we brought all VAS drivers together to discuss this situation openly. It was clearly stated that, as long as the number of VAS drivers does not increase, it is not financially feasible for Glosso VZW to continue with this.

Announcement

A few weeks later, we learned that BRCV Maasmechelen would no longer organize VAS races in 2026. We kept our decision under consideration at the time, but organizing a championship with only three races is not realistic, certainly not given the persistently low number of entries.

Ultimately, we too had to make the difficult but unavoidable decision not to organize VAS races in 2026.

Moreover, in mid-December 2025, we unexpectedly received a registered letter at the secretariat of Glosso VZW. In the interest of transparency, we do not wish to withhold this document. You can read it in full below. As you can read for yourselves, Glosso VZW is no longer permitted to organize club races in 2026, under penalty of revocation of the licenses of all employees. Only VAS and BRX races would still be allowed. Additionally, various claims are being made in the communication and reporting that create the impression that riding during club races is unsafe and that the insurance is not in order. These insinuations are incorrect and misleading. Just as with VAS and BRX races, both the Red Cross and a doctor are present during our club races. The marshals are also identical and are staffed by the same people within the three disciplines. Furthermore, for the club competitions, we take out exactly the same insurance as for BRX and VAS competitions, with the only difference being that this insurance is taken out by Glosso VZW itself and not via RACB or VAS. We note that RACB/VAS is currently attempting to block this insurance in various ways, with the aim of preventing Glosso VZW from organizing club competitions. We wish to share these facts with you accurately and transparently as well. If Glosso VZW is no longer allowed to organize club competitions, the future of our association looks particularly bleak. We deeply regret this situation, especially since Glosso VZW is unfairly cast in a negative light as a result. To date, we have not received a single email or telephone contact from VAS with the intention of sitting down together to see if a solution is still possible. On the contrary, a letter was recently circulated stating that efforts had allegedly been made by VAS to revive the VAS championship. However, these alleged efforts were never formally or concretely discussed with Glosso VZW.

Our objective is and remains to allow everyone to enjoy their sport, regardless of whether they participate in BRX, VAS, or club competitions. Opposition by other bodies
